Meet the Founder –Yon Du

Hi, I’m Yon, the person behind Oxbuilt Design Ltd. I’ve been working in building design, drafting, and construction planning work for over 15 years here in Edmonton and across Alberta. In 2015, I founded this business to help homeowners, business owners, franchise companies, small town municipal governments and builders bring their ideas to life—whether it’s a:

• garage suite, custom home, etc..
• basement development,
• Light commercial building or business facility,
• Construction general contracting for basement, tenant improvements.

My past exposure to various projects brings a mix of technical, creative, and practical construction insight.

My background includes:

• NAIT Architectural Technology diploma 2006 & Business management diploma, and partial study of Construction engineering technology.
• Continously part time studying of Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Athabasca University. Also, completed RAIC Part 1 2023
• Doing design work and managing actual builds and doing hands on work—This helps me know what works on paper and what works on-site.

I enjoy working directly with my clients with authentic approach with plans that make permits and construction easier. Great projects come from collaboration. I’m proud to work with engineering consultants from diverse expertise backgrounds.

Outside of work, I’m a very involved dad, camping, and always have a few fun unique projects of my own. Whether it’s converting camping trailer or planning kids activities.
